Thought I'd just write and tell you what the Dr. told me Wed.  I went to Dr. Nair. He's the Dr. I had at Baptist in Little Rock. He's a blood and cancer dr. He says that with my iron, or rather for me I don't have any iron that I have Chronic iron deficiency anemia, this means my body will not retain iron. With the blood he says I have myelodysplastic syndrome which means my bone marrow does not make enough blood to keep a body going.  I went to these Doctors for years in which they knew I didn't have any iron and they gave me iron pills which this Doctor says for me was like taking sugar pills for all the good they did me. He gave me a PINT of iron through IV. I have to go back this coming week for another one. With the blood he says that it is a defect in the bone marrow that causes it not to make enough blood. That my blood was seven and it is suppose to be between 13 and 15.  He says this is what made me pass out and then when I hit the floor on my chest it caused my lungs to start filling up with fluid and with that and the trauma to my body from such a hard fall face down caused the heart attack. Two and a half years ago I went to the cancer center at St. Mary's. She did a bone marrow test. She acted to me like there was nothing wrong but this Doctor says in her notes she knew I had this syndrome. He or I either one understand why she didn't tell me. He says if she had of started treating me for it then this wouldn't have happen and I would have been feeling a lot better now. All she did was give me iron pills. According to her files she also knew I didn't have any iron. For the blood he's giving me shots, he told me what they're called but I forgot.  They are suppose to boost the bone marrow and make it start making more blood so now my blood count should start going up. They gave me two pints of blood but my blood count is still just at 10. The IV's and shots will have to be had the rest of my life but you do what you have to do. Well, that's all the writing I can set here for right now, my backs yelling! LOVE YA ALL, JO ANN

About 2 weeks again JoAnn Miller, Lloyd and Mildred Knight Miller's daughter and Joe Miller's twin sister, passed out and hit her head on the hard floor.  A 911 ambulance was dispatched and she was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  Her blood pressure was about 80 over 40 and she was given 2 pints of blood.  The next day she had a heart attack and was stabilized by using electric shock to the chest.  The doctors gave her a 50-50 chance of living.  She was moved from St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, Arkansas to Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas where she was placed in Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.  She stayed there for about 5 days and then she was moved to a hospital Room.  On April 15, 2001 she was released from the hospital.  She is still in a very sick condition and they need to find out how she is losing blood.

Unfortunately, her daughter, Diann Estes, was visiting from Louisville, KY.  She started to return home on April 12, 2001, when she was involved in an auto accident in Little Rock.  She was rushed to the same hospital where JoAnn was located.  Her diagnosis was a fracture vertebrate.  Her prognosis is that she should walk again.  The bad news is that she had no insurance.  So if you could spar some extra money send it to Diann Estes at 1500Parakeet Pl. #2, Louisville, Ky. 40222 or at least send her a get well card.  Pray for all of us especially Jo Ann.
