1998 MILLER AND TOSI CHRISTMAS LETTER

Well, here we are again writing another Christmas letter.  Last Christmas we were spending a tropical Christmas time in Cancun.  This year Joe and Greta will be spending Christmas with Joe’s Mom in Arkansas along with JoAnn and Jack’s family.  Jo Ann has been a little sick lately so it will be nice to spend Christmas with them.  Everyone else seems to be well.

Jason Miller and his family (Sara and Fede) spent Thanksgiving with us in Virginia.  Fede is our four-year-old grandson.  The enclosed picture of the family was taken at Thanksgiving.  From top left to right it is Joe, Angela, Christina, and Greta.  From bottom left to right the order is Jason, Fede, and Sara.  It was really nice to have the family together on Thanksgiving.  Unfortunately, Yolanda and Dexie were not in the picture.  Dexie was visiting with others and Yolanda was to busy watching the neighborhood.  For those who are not in the know, Dexie and Yolanda are our dogs.

Jason finished another year at college, still working on his BS in Computer Science.  He should be finished in about 10 to 15 years, then he will continue with more school so he can study law.  Angela is in her second year at James Madison University studying Integrated Science and Technology, and Christina is finishing her last year in high school.  Angela is learning new four letter words by taking courses like Physics and Calculus.  She has moved her small couch into her dorm room, which makes it much more comfortable, unfortunately there is very little room to move around.  Christina was just accepted at University of Virginia in the school of Engineering.  We are really happy for her.  The University of Virginia was her first choice and was her only college application.  I guess if she did not get accepted at Virginia, she would have worked as a window cleaner at Greta’s office next year.

We had a great year.  It always starts out with tax season.  Greta is the coordinator of tax season and she loves it.  Tax season typically runs from January to April 15th, although Greta has been very busy all year.  What Joe enjoys about tax season is the end of tax season party that is given by Greta’s firm on April 15th.  After tax season, in the summer, the family (everyone in the picture) convened with some other friends on the outer banks of North Carolina for about 7 days.  This was the week before Hurricane Bonnie hit the outer banks, so we were quite lucky.  This was our family vacation and it was a lot of fun.  Joe’s company has been doing well.  Most of the work is performed for one Chicago company, so Joe spends about half of his time in Chicago.  Joe and Greta still have time to teach the 4th grade Sunday school class and to participate in other volunteer activities.  For exercise, Joe walks/runs about 3 miles a day, and Greta joins him on the weekend.

One very sad thing has happened.  Dixie’s dad, Emmett, has been very ill and is not expected to recover.  We are all praying for him.

I hope all have very happy holidays and an extraordinarily prosperous and Happy New Year.
