The
2001
Miller
Family
Christmas
Letter
Well,
it
has
been
an
interesting
year
for
us
all.
It
started
out
with
a
wonderful
celebration
on
January
1
(Our
5th
anniversary)
and
ended
with
a
wonderful
Christmas.
In
September,
we
were
shocked
by
the
sudden
terrorist
acts
in
New
York
and
D.C.
(really
getting
very
close
to
home)
and
in
November,
we
were
giving
thanks
for
our
many
blessings
God
has
given
us.
The
family
is
all
well.
Jason,
Sarah
and
Fede
live
in
their
new
house
in
Hammond,
LA.
Jason
works
for
SAIC
in
New
Orleans,
Sarah
works
as
a
dental
hygienist
in
Baton
Rough
and
Fede
is
in
the
second
grade
in
a
Montessori
school.
He
actually
knows
his
multiplication
tables
through
9
times
9.
Angela
is
a
software
engineer
for
Verizon
and
has
her
own
apartment
in
Arlington,
VA.
Christina
is
planning
on
finishing
her
degree
at
James
Madison
University
this
spring.
She
works
part
time
as
a
server
in
a
restaurant
in
Harrisonburg,
VA.
Greta
is
working
as
hard
as
ever
at
Crutchley,
Marginot
&
Tosi
and
Joe
is
still
a
contract
consultant
in
engineering
and
computers.
The
first
four
and
one-half
months
of
the
year
are
usually
dominated
by
Greta's
tax
season.
After
that,
we
have
some
time
to
relax
and
enjoy
the
summer.
Angela
graduated
from
James
Madison
University
in
June,
so
we
took
a
trip
to
Europe
to
celebrate
her
graduation.
We
(Joe,
Greta,
Christina
&
Angela)
flew
into
London,
England
where
Kentucky
Fried
Chicken
is
actively
selling
fried
chicken
on
every
street
corner.
After
we
watched
the
Changing
of
the
Guard
at
Buckingham
Palace
and
engaged
in
a
few
other
tourist
activities,
we
rode
the
Chunnel
(A
high-speed
train
that
goes
under
the
English
Channel)
to
Paris,
France.
Paris
is
a
lovely
city
in
June
with
almost
perfect
weather.
After
several
wonderful
days
in
Paris
we
flew
back
home.
In
July,
we
tried
something
new
to
us.
We
(Joe,
Greta
and
Christina)
went
on
a
mission
trip
to
Honduras.
The
mission
was
on
behalf
of
Grace
Presbyterian
Church.
We
worked
through
Honduras
Outreach
Inc.
(HOI)
and
our
church
adopted
a
village
named
El
Quebrachal
located
in
the
Agalta
Valley
of
northern
Honduras.
We
spent
a
week
in
Honduras
where
we
helped
the
villagers
build
room
additions
with
mud
walls
and
Christina
and
Greta
spent
considerable
time
with
the
school
children
of
the
village.
The
whole
story
is
provided
at
http://www.josephsmiller.com/gho/
,
if
you
are
interested.
It
was
a
very
unique
and
uplifting
experience
that
helps
define
the
true
meaning
of
life.
After
Honduras,
we
had
to
cool
off
a
little,
so
we
hit
the
beach
at
the
Outer
Banks
of
North
Carolina
for
a
week
in
August.
Jason,
Sarah
&
Fede
were
able
to
join
us.
Christina
was
able
to
be
there
for
a
few
days,
but
Angela
was
not
able
to
make
it,
since
she
just
started
her
new
job
with
Verizon.
In
December,
we
made
our
annual
visit
to
New
Orleans
to
celebrate
Jason's
birthday.
It
was
a
grand
affair
with
a
cake
and
many
candles.
Joe
and
Greta
remain
very
busy
in
voluntary
community
activities.
Joe
became
an
Elder
in
the
Grace
Presbyterian
Church.
Joe
&
Greta
continue
to
teach
4th
&
5th
grade
Sunday
School.
We
also
go
to
a
Southeast
Washington,
D.C.
elementary
school
twice
a
month
to
read
to
the
first
and
second
graders.
Joe
tutors
a
second
grader
every
Monday
evening.
Joe
was
selected
to
be
a
mentor
for
one
of
the
eight-grade
students
in
Confirmation
Class
at
the
church.
So
you
see
that
we
are
blessed
with
many
opportunities
to
share
our
time
with
others
in
our
community.
It
has
been
another
whirlwind
year
for
us,
and
we
praise
God
daily
for
our
many
blessings.
Have
a
Happy
New
Year
and
May
God
Bless
You!!!!
Joe
and
Greta
