The purpose of the Home Team was outlined:

1. Support and liaison Grace/HOI year around

2. Plan activities for the village including Bible School, the Fiesta, Home Kits, etc.

3. Plan, recruit and pack supplies for Honduras

4. Fund raising for the village well, scholarships and necessary supplies

5. Support the traveling team as needed

The HOT Scholarship program was reviewed. There are currently 3 students sponsored by Grace at $600 per year. There are no scholarship students at this time from our village.

An update of the El Quebachal well project is that Rotary has promised to fund $12,000 of the $16,500 estimated project cost. We at Grace would like to raise the funds to complete the project.($4,500). With approval, the team needs to organize fund raising for this project. Our next meeting will be to discuss the fund raising campaign.

The roles and needs of the Mission were outlined. At this time it is felt that the Honduras travel team should remain at 20 Missionaries. The date is 13 July 2002. The approximate cost is $1,000 per person for transportation and board. The need for a Sunday School series about having a heart for mission has been suggested as a wonderful preparation aid for all of us whether our mission is near or far. Also the need for a beginner Spanish class was addressed. We are looking for a volunteer to teach such a class either without or minimal charge. Attendees were asked to volunteer for several focus groups, which included:

1. School Programs/Books/Hygiene Kits

2. Home Kits

3. Suitcases/Supply Containers

4. Sewing Supplies

5. Fiesta Planning

  1. Well Project

7. Scholarships

8. Administrator

General discussion followed with a question and answer time. Others who were unable to attend this meeting but have requested to be included are: Sarah Cipriano, Frank Creneti, Topher and Susan Generazio, Randi Wise, Jim Cowgill, Alison Kulas, Ross Fugill, Charlie and Conoly Barker.
