Joe Miller gave an opening prayer and welcomed the Grace Honduras Mission Home Team to the meeting.

Kathleen McClelland, who is serving as Grace’s medical person, provided the team with some general medical information including, among other things, possible illnesses and diseases, prevention and treatment, shots, pills, safety and protection, and food/drink cautions.

The team then heard from its activity team leaders:

Greta Miller stated that the school programs/books/hygiene committee is progressing nicely with crafts, bible lessons, and other programs;

Theresa Cipriano stated that the Home Kits for nearly 70 families would be approximately $20 per kit. Theresa will present a "Minute for Mission" at next Sunday’s church service to show the congregation a sample home kit and advise and encourage everyone that they can "sponsor" a home kit;

The suitcase committee headed by Kim Hatfield related that it appears that members have generously donated enough suitcases;

Judy Reiske advised that circles were contacted and to date they have provided two suitcases full of sewing supplies;

Erik Hawkins reported that he is working on getting supplies for the Fiesta; and

Joe Miller related that the well project is on hold pending arrangements with the Honduran government and its water authority. More information is needed, and when known, the congregation will be advised.

Greta Miller then provided the team with a quick overview of what personal supplies were needed for the trip to Honduras and what one may want to consider packing including, but not limited to, four changes of clothes, gloves, hygiene pack, hat, backpack, water container, journal, long sleeve shirt, loose and lightweight pants, and heavy soled shoes. Greta then closed the meeting with prayer.

The next meeting of the Grace Honduras Team will be on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. for packing day.
